It is finished, he said
For a while
he looks helpless
For a while
he lets them
scourge him,
nail him,
kill him
Hanging on a cross
and dying

a man on a mission
come to save
a wretch like me
Breathing his last*, he looks at us and says:

I wish you knew
what I now know
You needed him too.

windowseat thoughts
the sun drew her there
to sit
in the window
and soak up the brightness
and watch
she saw the bare trees
watched birds flying past
